Iranians rally to Support Uprising in Abadan and Other Cities in Iran

Iranians, supporters of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, in Brussels rally in solidarity with the recent uprising in Abadan (SW Iran), and other cities. On Saturday, Dozens of Iranians gathered in place de la Monnaie, Brussels, in solidarity with recent uprisings in Iran.

protesters in Brussels call the Belgium government and EU authorities to support protests in Iran where the Iranian regime tries to crack down on the protests. Iranians also call to keep the Iranian regime accountable for 43 years of crime against humanity. NCRI supporters in Brussels, hold banners with the photos of Maryam Rajavi, president-elect of NCRI, & slogans to support “Resistance Units” that plays a major role to organize anti-regime protests, and also in support of the uprising in Iran towards a free, democratic, and secular Iran.

On the fifth day of the Abadan uprising, on Friday, June 26, people from different cities including Ahvaz, Khorramshahr, Omidieh, Shiraz, Behbahan, Shahinshahr, Isfahan, Yazd, Bushehr, Bandar Abbas, Mahshahr, Sarbandar and Bagh-e Malek took to the streets with anti-government slogans. And in support of the people of Abadan and against the crime and looting of the mullahs, they protested.

Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the Iranian opposition movement described the growing protests in Iran as an indicator of the upcoming revolution. “From protests after the collapse of #Abadan_Metropolis, to the people’s rebellion and protests against high prices, this widespread misery echoes the same message everywhere: revolution is on its way. #IranProtests”, she tweeted.

According to the National Council of Resistance of Iran, People in several cities across the provinces of Khuzestan, Hormozgan, and Isfahan took to the streets during the previous days holding anti-regime protests in solidarity with the people of Abadan following Monday’s collapse of the city’s ten-story Metropol tower. At least 28 people have been killed and scores still trapped in the rubble, but instead of sending rescue teams, the clerical regime has sent special guards to quell the protests.

Women were participating in large numbers in these protest rallies. Their chants included: “Death to the dictator!” in reference to regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. “Death to the deceptive [regime]!” “Raisi, resign!” in reference to regime President Ebrahim Raisi. Reports showed authorities disrupting internet access in many cities to prevent the further distribution of reports regarding these protests and in the prelude to their crackdown measures. Reports circulating on social media platforms indicated the regime’s security forces using anti-riot pellet guns against protesters in Shahin Shahr of Isfahan province.

Iranian Regime’s Agents Attack the protesters in Brussels

In a desperate reaction to the solidarity protests in various cities of Iran in support of Abadan’s uprising, the ruling dictatorship sent its agents and functionaries to disrupt the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK/PMOI) supporters’ rally in Brussels in support of Abadan’s uprising. The frantic act was also prompted by the regime’s anger and concerns about the consequences of the conviction of Assadollah Assadi, its diplomat-terrorist, arrested and convicted by a Belgian court for attempting to bomb the opposition’s grand gathering in Paris in 2018.

Mistaking Brussels streets with Abadan, the regime agents attacked and injured several demonstrators who repelled their assault. Belgian police arrested the agents.

The agents’ attack on MEK supporters rally in Brussels is the flipside of the attempt to bomb the Iranian Resistance Annual gathering in 2018 by a regime diplomat-terrorist and his three accomplices holding Belgian passports.

The Iranian Resistance again demands the arrest, trial, and revocation of the passports of the regime’s agents, the Quds Force and Intelligence Ministry’s mercenaries, their expulsion from European countries, and the prevention of such agents from entering European soil. This is a necessary move to counter the clerical regime’s unbridled terrorism and ensure the security of Iranian refugees and asylum seekers.
